Adopting a sustainable approach is a duty in today’s world that affects everyone across the board—a commitment that BLUDOM has decided to embrace with determination, promoting innovative and environmentally friendly solutions at every stage of its operations. In fact, those who build today have a responsibility to anticipate the environmental, social, and energy needs of tomorrow. This approach is guided by the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, making a concrete contribution to the ecological transition through measurable, verifiable, and replicable practices. The combination of geothermal energy and photovoltaic panels, together with passive thermal insulation systems and high-performance windows and doors, aligns with this vision, reducing energy consumption and emissions to ensure maximum well-being—both economically and environmentally.
With this in mind, all buildings constructed by BLUDOM are gas-free, NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building)-certified, and rated Energy Class A4—the highest current standards in terms of energy efficiency.
The use of high-efficiency hybrid systems, such as geothermal and air-to-water heat pumps with inverter technology, ensures optimal energy management for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production. In addition, state-of-the-art photovoltaic systems are installed on the roofs (up to 19 kW per building), enabling a high degree of energy self-sufficiency thanks to bidirectional inverters for self-consumption and power exchange with the grid.
Living comfort is ensured bythe advanced thermal insulation of the building envelope, achieved using materials such as:
- Danesi Normablock Più S40 HP (Monza) and Wienerberger Porotherm Bio Plan (Turbigo)blocks, which offer high energy performance, were used for the exterior walls with special attention paid to eliminating thermal bridges.
- Insulation made of rock wool, high-strength polyurethane foam, and extruded polystyrene (XPS), installed on the roof, between garages and living areas, and under the floor.
- Partition walls lined with mineral wool for sound insulation between units.
The roofing systems are designed to optimize insulation and weather protection: they utilize double-seamed aluminum panels and ventilated layered systems, while green roofs incorporate drainage mats and geotextiles for water management and substrate protection.
The building systems design is enhanced by radiant floor heating, controlled mechanical ventilation (CMV) integrated into the window units, and smart home automation that allows for remote control of the HVAC system, electrical loads, and motorized sunshades, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
Aluminum or PVC windows and doors with thermal breaks, triple-pane glass, and double chambers filled with argon—which provide excellent insulation (already certified to DNSH standards and ready for ESG certification)—as well as insulated monoblock units, also help reduce heat loss and improve the overall energy balance.
