The contemporary home is not just a living space, but a smart ecosystem.

The integration of home automation enables seamless, centralized management of systems: climate control, lighting, security, sunshades, access control, and electric vehicle charging can all be easily controlled remotely with a single tap on a smartphone. An approach that redefines the concept of comfort, extending it to the realms of efficiency, range, and personalization.

According to the Internet of Things Observatory at the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, the Italian smart home market reached a value of 900 million euros in 2024, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year.

This growth is driven by security solutions (28% of the market), followed by connected home appliances (19%), energy-saving systems such as smart thermostats and boilers (16%), and smart speakers (14%).

According to the same study, it has emerged today that six out of ten Italians own at least one smart device at home, and one in three say they are interested in buying new ones. Growing consumer awareness is accompanied by changes in the product offerings: devices not only integrate with one another but also leverage artificial intelligence to provide personalized services and optimize energy consumption.

For real estate developers, integrating home automation solutions into new projects means meeting growing demand and offering homes that are ready for the future. The adoption of technological standards ensures interoperability among devices from different manufacturers, while a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency meets the needs of a market that is increasingly environmentally conscious.

For BLUDOM, integrating home automation solutions is no longer an optional extra, but a strategic choice to enhance the value of properties and offer customers a cutting-edge living experience—because the home of the future is no longer an abstract concept, but a dynamic environment capable of anticipating the needs of its residents.

In the near future, smart homes will increasingly focus on sustainability andpredictive efficiency: environmental sensors, smart solar panels, and energy storage systems will communicate with one another to maximize savings and reduce environmental impact. Homes will become active nodes in smart cities, capable of interacting with the power grid and contributing to grid stability and shared energy generation.

For today’s builders, such as BLUDOM, this means embracing a new design paradigm: not just beautiful and functional buildings, but digital ecosystems designed to improve quality of life over the long term.

A home that cares for those who live in it, that grows with its residents and adapts to their lifestyle.
